Faith McFadden has been at SMA for the last three years and currently teaches 7th and 8th grade science. In the last year, she has received over $22,000 in grants to benefit her classroom and the school as a whole.
Over the summer, she was named the winner of the middle school division of the Shell Science Lab Regional Challenge based on her teaching philosophy and after designing a lab utilizing stream tables to that would benefit both middle and high school science courses. This award will be used towards purchasing much larger and realistic stream tables, many new lab kits and as well as professional development. She will attend the NSTA conference in Kansas City in late October to receive her award.
In addition to this award, Ms. Mc won the Great American Cookies Great Teacher Sweepstakes last week and received an additional $500 for her classroom. Thank you to all of the parents and staff who voted for her!
